The federal government has passed new legislation that directly concerns non-profit corporations (organizations). Ontario is in a similar process.
We are there to help with annual filing responsibilities of existing organizations or to assist new organizations with their first-time registration.
Existing, federally registered non-profit (including charities) organizations in Canada, will have re-registered with Corporations Canada by October 2014. The Canada Not-for-Profit Corporations Act came into force on October 17, 2011.
If you are an existing, Ontario provincially registered non-profit organization, necessary actions to be taken for re-registration are indicated here. It is expected that you will have a three year transition period for re-registration, once the Act comes into force. The Ontario Not-for-Profit Corporations Act, 2010, began its period of consolidation on October 25, 2010.
